PERSONAL INFORMATION:
NAME: Peki Colombo
AGE: 45 and proud of it!
EDUCATION: High School Drop-Out
GOALS: Making this world a better place to be!

Peki (30k)Let me introduce myself:

I caught the “acting bug” when I was a junior in high school and won first place in a one-act festival.  Although I dropped out of high school my senior year, I was prompted to get my GED when my oldest daughter was about to graduate from high school (couldn't let her graduate before me!)  I like to say I graduated with honors from the “School of Hard Knocks”.  As you can see by my information following, I have learned that there is nothing that cannot be accomplished if there is sufficient desire to do so.  Most all I have learned, I taught myself.  A lack of formal education is no excuse for ignorance.

In my lifetime so far, I have been everything from a Hippie to a Hypocrite, auto mechanic to gold miner, florist to electrician and wild woman to Mom. I have never made more than $19,000 a year, but have always found a way to provide for my two daughters.  If life is hard, get out the sledge hammer!

I became active with the Earth & Sky group after my daughters and I went to a Halloween Eve performance of The Rocky Horror Show in Corpus Christi.  The cast members were obviously not professionals…but the exuberance and excitement were absolutely infectious!  When my daughters expressed an interest in doing the show, I approached john daniels jr. to inquire about what the necessary qualifications for participation were.  Turns out in john’s theater, there are no qualifications needed except a devotion to the show at hand and the desire and commitment to do your best.  Just what I wanted to hear!  So the wild ride began!

During my daughter's high school years, we had the opportunity to participate together in many performances at our little experimental theater (The Place). It was a wonderful experience!  I found it a great way for my daughters to “spread their wings” and be exposed to many different types of people and ideas.  It also allowed me to know where they were, who they were “hanging out” with, and what they were doing.  I believe it gave them a chance to taste and test their own individual independence.  It was a learning and growing experience that enabled me to see them as potential adults.  It was truly a family experience, and I will always be grateful for the friends I made during that time.

I am proud to say that both of my daughters are now college graduates (thank God they learned from their mother's experience)!

Summer 1998 (15k)
Summer is 23 and lives in Austin.  A recent graduate from University of Texas, she will be pursuing her professional goals in the psychiatric field at Grad School next year.
My daughter Tricia is 21 and a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Miami, FL. After working in South Beach area, she is now following her dream as a professional Chef in Charlottesville, VA.

And now what? No empty nest syndrome here!  I am always open to new learning experiences.  Participating with the Earth & Sky Acting Company is like therapy to me.  It allows me to act out and express all my hopes, dreams, emotions and fantasies in a way that no other activity can.  Never believe anyone who says “You can't do that”… life is for living, loving and learning.  You're never too old for that!
