Discription:
In this post-apocalyptic
world, it is against the law to be heterosexual. The "City State"
has a force field to keep insiders “in” and outsiders “out.“ Belonging
to a club is more than an interest; it is your life. Blue-lip cops
can kill or castrate you. Don’t get pregnant. You won’t know
if the lead character, Spike, is the hero, the heroine, or the heroin.
“Tolchock”
is a nadsat word from Anthony Burgess’ CLOCKWORK ORANGE. It is the
battle cry of the outer underground who want to overthrow the "City State"
inside the vortex and return “freedom of choice,” the right to give birth.
In TOLCHOCK,
the characters explode into elevated speech in the form of “written
word” poetry (Street poetry of the ‘90’s); much like characters in musicals
break into song when words are not enough to express their thoughts, feelings,
and emotions. In this world, elevated speech is ripe with gutter
language and the outcasts are the literate society still burdened by icons
of a television culture.

5-females plus an ensemble of 8 to 20 of any mix.
