Discription:
The first play in a 60's
trilogy of musically advanced plays by john daniels, jr. COME
TOGETHER: MAGIC/MUSIC/BEATLES is a Rock-u-mentory. It tells the
story of the 60's by telling the story of The Beatles. Thirty-five
Beatles' songs are performed by a cast of storytellers. No look alike
Beatles are required, although four actors sometimes play the Beatles.
In many of the productions, some of the Beatles have been played by women.
Colorblind and nontraditional casting work very well in COME TOGETHER.
Note:
The rights to the show does not carry the performance rights to the music.
CT has been produced by
a university, a high school, a jr. high school, a professional company,
and a two community theaters. Each time the producing company has
gotten permission to use the music themselves. Two productions have
been done with live bands, one with computerized music, two with Karoke
tapes and one with a combination. Many of the songs are played by
the cast depending on individual talents.
CAST: From
12 to 40 or more, any complement of males or females.
