Bad Boys on the Ranch
(working title)

Discription:
This is what it is like to work with emotionally-disturbed teenage boys in a residential treatment center.  It is emotionally draining if your not able to step back and separate the boys from their problems.  The language is foul beyond imagination.  The violence is sudden and harsh.  Lying is a fact.  The constant tension from the state regulators, the administrators, the police, the caseworkers and the boys can kill your self-esteem.  These boys are both violators and victims.  They are children.  The can love deeply.  They can be damn funny.  They can be dangerous.

The boys believe that they run the Ranch.  Teacher/Councilors come and go, but the boys are always there.

Duane knows how to use the system.  He is a fifteen-year-old crack-baby.  He is a natural born leader.  Sunny is not bright and has no where to go.  He has never broken a law but, will be here till he’s eighteen.  He must survive.  There are eleven boys on the Ranch, each has a story.

None of the night shift Teacher/Councilors have been on the Ranch more than a year.  The Ranch is on probation.

Jake Shane has just gotten married and needs a job.  He has answered an ad in the paper:  Wanted strong outdoor type to work with troubled teenagers.  No experience necessary - $6.00/hr.

CAST:  Eleven boys, twelve men, six women.

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
