Description:
Tell me about Amelia.
Do you know her? Has she changed your life? Have you changed
hers? If you had never met Amelia, would you have lived your life
differently? Has she lived a different life because of you?
I think so. Life can change in an instant. Snap! I can
see her dancing in the dark. You have a story. Tell me about
Amelia.
Amelia is a person who wants to help.
She has had an effect on several people's lives. Because of an accident,
she has become trapped by guilt. Amelia is totally immobilized.
She must fight inner demons, represented by the people in her life, to
free herself. She must do, for herself, what she has done for others.
Amelia is a dream role for any actress.
She plays herself at:
a youthful shy 17;
a vivacious college student/instructor
who thinks she has the world figured out;
a more settled woman in her
first years working;
a woman of 41, who because
of a debilitating accident must use a walker and looks much older;
her twin sister at 41, who
because of her wild lifestyle, looks and acts much younger;
Amelia also does a sexy solo dance
in the headlights.
All the other roles are gems.
The show is easily rehearsed, as
a series of scenes with just 2 or 3 people, until you get to the end of
the show where everyone comes together.
There is a student documentary which
weaves through the show and ties it together. This documentary should
be seen by the audience on a screen or TV monitor, or can be done live
using two actors (one male - one either male or female). The original
production used video which the author/director created. You may
create your own, or purchase a copy.
